A message from the team said that this was another tricky day on dirt tracks and some extra miles were put in due to lack of access for the support vehicle. After only 4 hours sleep the night before Mimi must have been feeling it – she sounded in good shape though when she called me as she power walked up another hill.
As I write they are parked up and sleeping at the Circle Pines Holiday site near Williams. Today the plan is to cover 59 miles towards Flagstaff. Mimi is not allowed to run on the Interstate 40 and therefore the route is pretty complex, using a combination of small tarmacked roads and dirt tracks. I remember this well from the recce. Map reading will be vital to avoid extra miles today!
